The artwork of a possible new weapon for Battlefield 1 has been discovered. In the video, you can see the crossbow grenade launcher.
In Battlefield 1, you have the choice between many different weapons. Depending on the class, you can equip machine guns or sniper rifles, for example, and use them in battle. You also have the choice of various secondary weapons, among which the Kolibri is one of the highlights. There may soon be a new method to throw grenades in the game. This will be aided by a weapon based on a crossbow.

Battlefield 1 new grenade launcher?
The weapons in Battlefield 1 were designed among others by Peter Olofsson Hermanrud designed. He is the Lead Weapon Artist of Battlefield 1 and has uploaded images of some weapons on his Artstation website. Here is the Artstation website of Peter Olofsson Hermanrud.
In his last update on the website, he uploaded images of weapons for medics, assault soldiers, and scouts that already exist in the game. However, there was also the image of a weapon that cannot yet be used in Battlefield 1: a crossbow grenade launcher. The image has since been deleted. In the video, YouTuber Westie shows how this weapon looks.
A similar weapon already existed in the Battlefield 3 DLC Aftermath. In Battlefield 1, there are currently not many options for throwing grenades, so a new weapon of this kind would make sense.
This weapon may only be a concept for Battlefield 1 that has already been discarded. However, this information could have simply been written as a comment on the image to provide clarity. As Westie mentions in the video, this crossbow grenade launcher could also be a new weapon that might already be activated with the They Shall Not Pass DLC. The DLC is planned for March 2017.
