On the Fort de Vaux map in Battlefield 1, you can trigger an Easter egg that spawns a powerful shark.
A new Easter egg in Battlefield 1 allows a giant shark to appear in the game, which has nothing to do with the setting of the game. Sharks were not part of the soldiers’ standard equipment during World War I, but now they have found their way into the World War shooter. This Easter egg is likely intended as a nod to Battlefield 4 players, as there was a Megalodon shark back then.
In a dirty puddle on the Fort de Vaux map in Battlefield 1, the beast awaits. If you turn the right knobs and make noise, it will leap out of the water and claim its victim.
Hidden messages led to the Easter egg
The Fort de Vaux map is part of the They Shall Not Pass DLC, which introduced the French army into the game. Additionally, a shark was embedded in the game, which players could now summon for the first time. The path to this Easter egg was adventurous.
Clues on a dog tag already gave hope before the DLC release that a surprise awaited players. When the players decrypted the message from a dog tag, the phrase “expect further instructions” came to light.
When “They Shall Not Pass” was released, players found a record on the Fort de Vaux map that could be played on a special gramophone. By deciphering the notes heard during the playback of the record, players were informed that “a secret awaits beneath Vaux.” And they would soon see this secret with their own eyes.
Summoning BF1 Megalodon
The confirmation that a secret awaits players on the Fort de Vaux map inspired the community to get creative. After a thorough search, players found three valves that must be opened simultaneously (You can find the locations of these valves in the embedded video at the end of the article.). Once this synchronized task is completed, a puddle will form at the location shown in the video, near point C, where the monster will soon be summoned.
- Then go to the large hallway, at the end of which you destroy the pile of crates.
- Underneath, there is a drainpipe into which you throw a grenade to awaken the shark.
- Return to the puddle that has formed and gather there with other players.
- In the puddle, you kill three people in melee combat to turn the water blood red.
- The water is now full of blood, and the grenade you threw into the hole has awakened the shark for its appearance.
- Now you must select a player to sacrifice.
- This player runs into the puddle, causing the Megalodon to spawn, which leaps out of the water with a great jump.
