With EA Access and Origin Access, you can play Battlefield 1 before the official release.
You will get early access to Battlefield 1 if you are a member of EA Access or Origin Access. This gives you access to a Play First Trial one week before the official release. If you own the Early Enlister Deluxe Edition, you can play the game starting from October 18, which is 3 days before release. However, the Play First Trial for Battlefield 1 is time-limited.
Battlefield 1 Early Access Maps and Game Modes
In the Play First Trial, you can try 5 maps and 4 game modes of Battlefield 1. The following maps you can play:
- St. Quentin Scar
- Sinai Desert
- Faw Fortress
- Amiens
- Suez
In addition, there are various game modes where you can prove yourself. In Conquest, you fight with up to 64 players for control of objectives. Here you can be on foot or in vehicles. Dangerous Behemoths appear in this mode and should not be underestimated. They can quickly turn the tide of a battle. Another game mode during early access is called Domination. This game mode is similar to Conquest, but focused on the essentials. The corridors are narrower, and an enemy can be waiting around every corner, so you should keep your melee weapons ready.
In the Operations game mode, you fight for the control of individual sectors. As an attacker, you try to attack the defenders with tanks, boats, airplanes, on foot, or even on horseback to capture their defensive position. Once the attackers have captured a defensive position, the defenders retreat to the next sector, which they then must defend. The attackers win if they capture all defensive positions of the defending team. For this game mode, you need to budget a lot of time. Depending on the battle, a match in Operations can last over 1 hour of gameplay.
In the early access of Battlefield 1, there is also the Rush mode. Here, you try to find and destroy the defenders’ telegraph posts. Defenders use the telegraph posts to request heavy artillery strikes. The attackers win if all telegraph posts are destroyed. If at least 1 telegraph post is still intact at the end of the playtime, the defenders win.
Early Access Singleplayer
If you participate in the Play First Trial, you can also try out the single player mode there. You can choose between the missions Steel Storm and Through Mud and Blood. To get you in the mood for the campaign, the developers have already released an exciting trailer. Progress in the single player mode will carry over when you play the full version after the trial.
The Play First Trial is limited to a total of 10 hours and starts on October 13. If you reach the 10 hours of gameplay by October 20, you will receive a Battlepack as a gift in the full version. Together with the Early Enlister Deluxe Edition on October 18, all the remaining maps will also come into play.
