General Tips
In video games, there can never be enough tips and tricks to make your virtual life easier. In this paragraph, we provide you with some general tips for playing Battlefield 1.
- Horses: An interesting feature in Battlefield 1 is the horses, which allow you to move across the various maps. If you are fighting against a soldier on a horse, always remember to aim at the rider and not the horse. Horses have a lot of health points and are therefore not as easy to kill as the rider. While the large hitbox tempts you to aim directly at the horse, you will usually come out the loser in a duel. By the way, horses also cause damage when no rider is on them. If they run you over, it hurts and can even be lethal.
- Capture Points: After you have captured a point, you should not run away immediately. Many players make this mistake and simply run to the next point without looking back. Often, a freshly captured point provides you with vehicles like jeeps or tanks. With these vehicles, you usually have a much easier time making your way to the next point.
- Sniper Reflection: Being killed by a sniper can be frustrating. However, if you want to kill them before they take your life, you should pay attention to reflections. In sunny weather, the sniper’s scope reflects the sun and helps you locate the shooter.
Best Weapons?
In Battlefield 1, you have a choice of many weapons. Determining the best weapon in Battlefield 1 is not easy, as it depends a lot on your play style and preferences. However, there are weapons that make playing enjoyable. One example is the tiny Colibri in Battlefield 1. It is probably the weapon you least expect to perform well. However, if you achieve a kill with the Colibri, it is doubly frustrating for the defeated enemy.
Another type of weapon you should use is the artillery strike in rush mode. As a defender, you must protect telegraph poles that are the target of the attackers. As a defender, you can not only remove the attackers’ explosives from the telegraph poles but also call for artillery strikes through these poles.
However, you have no influence over the artillery’s strike location. After you have requested the strike, the game decides where it takes place. However, it is a powerful strike that should definitely be utilized.
Using Grenades
Different types of grenades await you in Battlefield 1. There are special anti-tank grenades that can disable heavily armored vehicles. Other types of grenades, such as gas grenades, can be effectively used against snipers. However, you have to sneak close to the snipers first. If you make a good throw, a sniper player has a hard time. While they can use a gas mask to counteract the gas, it significantly restricts their vision. Some snipers will therefore prefer to change position to avoid the gas. In the meantime, they become easy prey for you.
Through the selection screen, you can specify which type of grenades you want to carry. In a game mode like rush , smoke grenades can be advantageous to cover important paths or positions. It’s best to try out the different grenades yourself and see in which situations they are beneficial for you.
Elite Classes and Airplanes
The elite classes in Battlefield 1 are particularly powerful and therefore have a lot of influence on a game. However, they are not self-sufficient and require a player who knows how to handle them. Desert Sinai
- On this map, you can find the sentry class near point F. As a sentry, you have a lot of firepower and wear heavy armor. The exact spawn point can be seen on your map.
- The tank hunter can be found near the capture point E. With this elite class, you have enough power to destroy a heavily armored vehicle from a distance.
- Near the capture point B, you can find the flamethrower soldier. Equipped with a flamethrower and strong grenades, you have the right tools for close-range combat.

Attacks from and to the air are not uncommon in Battlefield 1. There are various types of airplanes that you can fly. Bombers like the Gotha G.V or the Airco D.H.4 fly at low speed and are only lightly armored. The two gunners on board must take care of the bomber’s defense while the pilot can attack ground targets with their bombs.
Fighters, like the Sopwith F.1 Camel and the Fokker Dr. I, only have room for one pilot without crew. However, there are 2 MGs with which the pilot can shoot forward. While fighters have little armor, they are the fastest and most maneuverable planes in Battlefield 1.
Attack bombers like the Bristol F. 2 have room for one pilot and one additional crew member. They are equipped with a heavy and a light MG as well as bombs. However, when you drop the bombs, they do not explode immediately on impact but short time later with significant area damage. Attack bombers are not fast, but they are a good counter against tanks.
What the best airplane in Battlefield 1 is thus depends on the situation and your play style. However, you should definitely try out the air battles.
