Battleborn, the ailing MOBA shooter, is bravely fighting on and has a big update in store for Christmas. In it, you will unlock all 25 base heroes immediately, new skins, and a revamped interface.
Battleborn may be considered dead, but the shooter-MOBA itself is oblivious to this and continues to fight bravely. Therefore, the developers at Gearbox have not pulled the plug. On the contrary! Instead of giving up, they are adding more and doing a complete overhaul of the game!
Everything new for Christmas!
In the recently announced Christmas update on December 8th, you will first unlock all 25 base heroes immediately. You no longer need to take down multiple opponents or win a certain number of matches if you want high-end heroes like Ghalt or Cleese. Those who still meet the previous unlock conditions will receive a new skin for their efforts. Only the five newcomers, such as the sparrow Ernest or the tattered Beatrix, still need to be unlocked.
Additionally, a system familiar from MOBAs will be introduced in PvP, where players take turns choosing their heroes and can ban certain characters. The game now also offers special training modes, so the previously steep learning curve is not so harsh anymore. There are daily quests for PvP and overall more credits as rewards. “Leavers” get nothing! Furthermore, adjustments have been made to the interface and there is a revamped offer in the real money shop, which offers a wide range of boosters.
Jürgen says: The upgrade is certainly not a bad thing and should make Battleborn a bit more attractive. Unfortunately, the game is still Buy2Play, and no matter how cheap it is nowadays, reaching for the credit card or PayPal account remains a hurdle for many players. Therefore, I still hope for a swift transition to Free2Play.
