In the MOBA shooter Battleborn there is a controversy. Overwatch fans are causing trouble in the game’s porn district.
Overwatch is known for having a strong fanfiction scene surrounding the game. Fans imagine how the various heroes in the shooter are intertwined. Some of the heroes, especially the heroines, are heavily sexualized.
Overwatch is one of the most successful games of last year. Shooter competitor Battleborn, however, is not.
Now the head of the studio behind Battleborn, Randy Pitchford, posted on Twitter that there is also a “porn subreddit” for Battleborn.
VERY NSFW, but I have received reports that BattlebornRule34 is now a thing on Reddit. LINK WITH CAUTION: https://t.co/laA7tR4Dgs

And indeed: There in a subreddit named “BattlebornRule34,” a relatively small community of Battleborn porn fans has gathered, sharing pictures. Let’s just say pictures that you probably shouldn’t look at at work if you care what your colleagues think of you.
Since Pitchford’s tweet, the paradise in the Battleborn porn subreddit is now over. Numerous Overwatch fans have taken over the small subreddit. They post their own pictures and topics, mocking Battleborn and Pitchford. Pitchford’s tweet is interpreted as a desperate attempt to generate some PR for the shooter.
Currently, a thread titled “Overwatch is better” is at the top of the subreddit. A highly regarded thread also contains the message “Battleborn is trash. Not even porn can save the game anymore. Goodbye, you nerds!”
By the way: Water witch Alani (cover image) seems to occupy the place among Battleborn fans that Tracer holds for Overwatch fans.
