Battleborn talks about future DLCs and additional characters even before its release. We have the details.
Although Battleborn has not yet been released, the development is in its final stages. In the past, one would have said the game has now reached “gold status,” as the game boxes are being produced to be delivered on time by May 3rd, the release date of the hero shooter. This provides the opportunity for a few more announcements, as the release is by no means the end of the line. Free content and paid DLCs will also be part of Battleborn’s future.
5 Characters, 5 DLCs, and a Season Pass
Additionally, it has been announced that Battleborn will receive 5 more heroes, all of whom will be released sometime after the launch – and completely free of charge. Everyone who purchases the game will therefore have over 30 different characters to choose from as their favorite.
There is not much known about the new heroes yet, except for Alani, who looks a bit like she was taken from the anime “Avatar.” She commands the element of water and can either harm enemies or heal allies – one could almost think she is an elemental bender.
As one is already accustomed to from the Borderlands series, Battleborn will also be expanded with paid DLCs after its launch. There will be a total of 5 addons at $5 each (probably the same price in Euros). Each will come with a story mission highlighting some side stories in the fight for the last bright star of the galaxy. Additionally, each of these DLCs will come with some skins and new emotes. If one wants, they can secure the whole thing as a season pass for $20 and save a bit.
New Game Modes and Maps
Aside from the free heroes and paid DLCs, Battleborn also aims to deliver additional content. The developers want to ensure a steady flow of new game modes and extra maps while also listening to feedback from the community if certain things are requested. While they do not make any concrete statements yet, at least on paper (or screen) it sounds promising.
