The battle royale online shooter H1Z1: King of the Kill aims to reduce the average match time to 20 minutes. Additionally, 3 new weapons will soon be introduced to provide viable alternatives to existing firearms.
H1Z1: King of the Kill has had a tough time lately. The former king of the battle royale genre has long been outpaced by the newcomer PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. However, the developers at Daybreak are not giving up and have already introduced several fundamental updates with the Combat Update.
Three more weapons are expected to follow soon, and plans are in place to further distinguish themselves from PUBG by drastically reducing the average gameplay time per H1Z1 round.
Shorter matches through more weapons!
Rounds in H1Z1: King of the Kill once lasted around 40 minutes. This is about the same duration it takes in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds for all players to be eliminated, leaving only one victor. However, this is set to change in H1Z1, as the developers aim to create shorter matches filled with more action. The average time of chaos has already dropped to about 26 minutes.
The goal according to the developers is to achieve an average of 20 minutes. To do this, more weapons will be made available, for example through more supply drops. Additionally, players should find weapons that are already fully outfitted. This way, even a player who is falling behind can quickly regain competitiveness on the battlefield.
KH43, Ranch Rifle & Combat Shotgun – Three new weapons in the arsenal of H1Z1
A first step toward more chaos and faster matches involves three new weapons that will soon enter the game:
- The fully automatic KH43, which is supposed to be an alternative to the AK-47 at medium range. It deals less damage but is more precise.
- The semi-automatic Combat Shotgun has a larger magazine and fires faster than the usual pump gun. It also has a tighter spread and is effective at both medium range and in close combat.
- The Designated Marksman Rifle “Ranch Rifle” is ideal for snipers who take their time aiming to deliver devastating hits.
At a later date, H1Z1 plans to introduce heavy weapons like MGs and rocket launchers into the game. Such weapons are likely to thin out the player count even more rapidly, thus further hastening the gameplay.
