Battle Royale is the new buzzword. Following the success of PUBG and Fortnite, it seems every developer wants to join in – but not Ubisoft. The Division 2 will not receive a battle royale mode.
Anyone who is already annoyed just by hearing the term Battle Royale can breathe a sigh of relief. Because The Division 2 will not have such a mode, according to Ubisoft.

Battle Royale? Nope!
Ubisoft makes its position clear. More and more games are getting a battle royale mode. Recently, for example, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Battlefield 5. It would be logical for Ubisoft to jump on the bandwagon and include such a game mode in the upcoming online shooter The Division 2. However, the company has now denied that.
Creative Director Chadi El Zibaoui said at E3: “Battle Royale? Nope! Not in The Division 2.” The team wants to focus on the actual gameplay experience of the online shooter. By that, the Creative Director means the story campaign and the endgame. Players can look forward to many activities, but battle royale will not be among them.
Other games with Battle Royale? Interestingly, Chadi El Zibaoui said that The Division 2 will not have a battle royale. However, this does not exclude the possibility that another title from Ubisoft may implement this mode or that a pure BR game might already be in development.
Player reactions. Fans of The Division are mostly relieved by this statement, as it is important to them that the gaming experience known from The Division remains in focus.
