Many trainers have been banned following the release of update 0.107.1 for Pokémon GO A new wave of bans apparently targets spoofers or bots.
Pokémon GO accounts banned: On Reddit, some trainers report that players were banned in Pokémon GO after installing the new update 0.107.1. A new wave of bans has apparently thrown many bots out of the game.
Spoofers also affected?
New update: A few hours ago, Niantic released the new update 0.107.1 for Pokémon GO. Data miners have already decrypted what is hidden in this update – the summary with new Alola forms and the Aqua Tail attack for Pokémon GO can be found here.
Mainly bots affected: According to various reports on Reddit and Discord servers, some bot accounts were banned following the release of the new update. These are accounts that were previously used as bots for live maps, leveling services, and other prohibited purposes.
Some spoofers affected: A few reports show that spoofers are also affected by this wave of bans. Spoofers are human players who use third-party software to transmit a false location to Pokémon GO. So they can be in Hamburg, but in the game, they appear in Florida.
Android and iOS affected: In the past, there have been waves of bans that targeted only a specific operating system. This time, both Android and iOS have been hit.
Players want more bans for spoofers
Ban wave well received: The news about the ban wave is well received by players of Pokémon GO. On Reddit, one can read comments like “I thought ‘wave’ meant a new wave of EX Raid invitations. But a ban wave is good too.”.
Better to end spoofers: In feedback, it is often read that players wish for bans for spoofers. While it’s nice that more cheaters have been banned, many trainers simply don’t want spoofers to remain in the game any longer.
What do you think? Do spoofers annoy you and do you want them out of the game, or do they not bother you?
