Baldur’s Gate 3 was already huge at its release in 2023, but has gained an enormous amount of content over time. With the upcoming Patch 8, the developers are really going all out one last time before saying goodbye to Dungeons & Dragons.
When is the patch coming? Patch 8 is set to go live on all platforms on April 15, 2025, as Larian announced in a video message on Instagram. Starting at 3 PM our time, there will be a special live stream on Twitch where the developers will present the patch in more detail, including the 12 new subclasses.

New Patch, New Playthrough
What’s in the patch? Patch 8 will be the last major content update for Baldur’s Gate 3; after that, the role-playing game will be pretty much complete. The developers have already made it clear that they are done with Dungeons & Dragons and want to focus on their own IPs. However, they are going out with a bang.
The big highlight of the patch is of course the 12 new subclasses, which will further expand the already available subclasses. Additionally, there will finally be cross-play and cross-progression. Fans can also look forward to a wealth of smaller treats, such as an extensive photo mode and even more evil endings.
