On August 3rd, the release of Baldur’s Gate 3 will take place. We at MeinMMO will provide you with the exact information regarding the time and the topics of download and preload.
Baldur’s Gate 3 will be released at 5:00 PM German time on Thursday, August 3rd.
For now, only for PC. You can buy it on Steam or GOG. The release on PlayStation 5 will take place on September 6th.
Not for PC. There was an early access that lets you explore a first part of the role-playing game.
For PS5, however, it is a bit different. Here you can buy the Digital Deluxe Edition. This allows you to play three days earlier, on September 3rd.
There will be no preload for Baldur’s Gate 3. According to the developers, Steam does not allow this in combination with the ‘Early Access’ version.
At the start at 5:00 PM, you need to download around 120 GB.
The developers recommend that you delete old save files and uninstall the early access client. The latter cannot be used for the full version.
Furthermore, the developers provided additional useful tips. You can find out more here: Baldur’s Gate 3 explains why you should delete your save files and uninstall the game before the release.
The base game costs 59.99 euros on Steam. There was a collector’s edition for 259.99 euros that is now sold out.
12 classes, 11 races, and many freedoms
What makes Baldur’s Gate 3 so interesting? The current interest in the role-playing game is enormous. This is not least due to the many freedoms the game offers. You can choose your character from one of 12 classes that can be divided into a total of 46 subclasses.
In addition, there are various races with minor bonuses and the possibility to combine multiple classes. Basically, there are no limits for you, except for the limiting number of 12 levels and the fact that some combinations simply do not work well.
Additionally, Baldur’s Gate offers you up to 17,000 alternate endings. This is an impressive number and attracts many interested parties solely for that reason. Additionally, there is a deep, turn-based combat system, a lot of lore for fans of the role-playing series, relationships with NPCs, and also some quirky moments.
