Kill Astarion with the Solar Lance, and then he goes crazy
What happened? User gokkyun on Reddit experienced secret and extremely amusing dialogues with Astarion after he tormented him with a super weapon. It’s about the decision to activate the Solar Lance at the end of the Githyanki crèche.
The super weapon can actually be activated. Gokkyun let Astarion die and then brought him back from the dead to see what would happen. Astarion was quite upset about that.
He says: ‘What the hell were you thinking activating that lance? I was right there!’
If you then sincerely apologize to him and promise to be more careful next time, you receive the following mockery: ‘Next time? No, no, no. If there’s a next time, I’ll be the one aiming the omnipotence weapon, thanks. Shall we leave now? Or do you want to unleash more chaos here?’

But the quotes alone cannot capture all the comedy of the scene. Neil Newbon, who provides Astarion’s voice, gives the performance exactly that balanced mix of angry irony that strangely reminds one of the villain Megamind. Astarion’s gestures in this scene wonderfully contribute to the humorous atmosphere.
In Baldur’s Gate 3, there are many different dialogue options to choose from. Therefore, many players start multiple save files to ensure they do not miss anything important. Maybe you could manage to bombard Astarion with the Solar Lance – it’s definitely worth it for that humorous scene.
