A player in Baldur’s Gate 3 broke his Honour-Run, but only realized it after a few long rests. MeinMMO reveals what happened.
What is the Honour Mode? In Baldur’s Gate 3, the Honour Mode is a tough challenge that tests you. Every little mistake can ruin your run. Save scumming is not an option, and the bosses have powerful Legendary Actions that pose significant challenges.
A player on Reddit ventured into the Solo Honour Run with the goal of challenging himself and his skills in the hardest way possible. Everything was going great for him until he encountered the fish people with Gale.
Spoiler: The article contains spoilers about Gale’s story and Act 1.
Better not sacrifice Gale
How did he ruin his run? The player mc_lil_bizz recruited Gale, primarily for the extra experience, and left him at camp for the most part. When he finally arrived at the BOOOAL, he made a fateful decision: he decided to sacrifice Gale because he found him annoying
and wanted the buff.
If you offer a sacrifice to BOOOAL, one of your companions dies and stays permanently dead. In return, you receive a permanent buff that gives you an advantage on attack rolls against bleeding targets.
However, he probably did not anticipate the consequences. Calmly, he continued playing his Honour Run – feeling that everything was fine.
Ticking time bomb
What happened next? Gale’s projection appears to you and urges you to resurrect him within 2 days (2 long rests). He warns you emphatically: Many lives depend on his return to the living.
But due to BOOAL, he cannot be resurrected and remains permanently dead. On the third day, an explosion occurs due to the destruction sphere in his chest. He explodes, killing and destroying everything – goodbye, Honour Run.
What is the deal with BOOOAL? You can encounter the Kuo-Toa at a hidden location in the Underdark (X: 75, Y: -240) and interact with them to become the fish god. The Kuo-Toa have created their god named BOOOAL, who is actually a regular
redcap. However, due to the worship of the Kuo-Toa, he has become significantly stronger.
You also have the option to convince the Kuo-Toa through successful skill checks that BOOOAL is not a real god. If you then defeat him, you can be named a god by the Kuo-Toa. Another option is to fight for BOOOAL. As a reward, you receive a sickle with the same effect as the aforementioned buff – but the buff is tied to the weapon.
