Shadowheart is one of the companions that can accompany us on our journey in Baldur’s Gate 3. A player hired the voice actress behind the cleric to make an important confession to his wife.
What is behind the confession? The player confessed to his wife that he cheated on her. To convey this to her, he hired Jennifer English through cameo.com. She is the voice actress of Shadowheart. She explains to the betrayed woman in a video message who he cheated on her with.
The player cheated on Jennifer English. So not with her as a person, but with the character she voices in Baldur’s Gate 3. He wanted to jokingly inform his wife that he has been dating Shadowheart in the game.
To ensure that his wife doesn’t get a shock and understands it as a joke, English makes it clear from the beginning that it is about a fictional character in a fictional world.
She explains that she has had “many lovers” recently and that the mentioned husband was one of them. This likely refers to the numerous players who chose to have a romance with Shadowheart.

Husband Makes Public Confession
In a separate article, the author explains himself and how the romance came about (via dotesports.com). However, he publishes the article anonymously, as his name should not be found through search engines in connection with “cheating”.

The husband describes how he included Shadowheart in the team, had deep conversations with her, and then it led to their first kiss. He poetically explains how he ended up having a fling with Shadowheart. The player is a traveler, and Shadowheart’s sleeping bag is the destination of the journey.
However, by the end of his article, he apologizes to his wife:
My beloved wife, I am at a loss for words to apologize. I don’t know how I can make it up to you. So I turned to Shadowheart herself, hoping that she, as a woman, would be able to empathize with the situation.
Therefore, he hired Shadowheart, who – contrary to his expectations – shows no remorse in her video message.
