The achievement “Mind Blown” (Where Love Falls) has only been unlocked by a few players in Baldur’s Gate 3. We reveal how you can obtain it – and what you need to do.
In Baldur’s Gate 3, there are plenty of achievements, and some are harder to earn than others. True achievement collectors do not give up and try to collect all achievements – including the “Mind Blown” achievement, known in German as “Wo die Liebe hinfällt”. For this achievement, you need to do something rather unusual: You must enter into a romance with the Emperor, your guardian.
The achievement is quite rare – only 9.5% of players have unlocked it on Steam.

Mind Blown – Guide for the achievement in Baldur’s Gate 3
When can you receive the achievement? The achievement “Mind Blown” (“Wo die Liebe hinfällt”) can only be obtained in Act 3, that is, when you reach the city of Baldur’s Gate. However, you can fulfill the prerequisites beforehand.
What do you have to do for “Mind Blown”? To obtain the achievement, two criteria must primarily be met:
- The Emperor must be positively inclined towards you.
- You must have found and looted the Emperor’s hideout.
First of all, you need to be friendly towards the Emperor. Whenever he encounters you, accept his ideas and show yourself to be cooperative. This may also mean that you use the mind flayer larvae to unlock illithid abilities. Additionally, the partial transformation into an illithid at the end of Act 2 should be accepted.
The second prerequisite is that you find the former hideout of the Emperor in the city of Baldur’s Gate. To do this, visit the “Elfsong Tavern” and enter the cellar. Here you should have an area spell ready to quickly defeat the many rats – they are not a big threat.
Stay in the western part of the room, where you see a small, somewhat collapsed passage. There is a switch. Press it to move through the large barrel into the next room.
Here you need to engage in a relatively difficult fight, as some Githyanki will ambush you. It is best to kill the two portal masters first, who continuously call for reinforcements, before you take out the others.
If you have accomplished this, cross through this room as well. At the end, behind the statue, you can find another button with a perception roll. Press it to reach the secret hideout.
In this room are many belongings of the Emperor. Interact with all of them and loot them. This will complete the quest, and you will have met all the conditions.
What do you have to do afterward? You can leave the place and now take a “Long Rest”. With a bit of luck, the scene with the Emperor should now start, where you have the option to get closer to him and enter into a relationship with him. The corresponding responses are relatively straightforward.
Note that it may happen that the scene is not triggered directly on the first night. Sometimes such events only occur with a bit of delay or another scene takes precedence.
Your gender or race does not matter for the achievement.
However, keep in mind that your night with the Emperor does not go unnoticed. For apparently, you have involved him so much that he briefly forgets to shield you from the rest of the world – allowing your companions to see what you have been doing with the mind flayer. If you are already in a relationship, this night could lead to some awkward follow-up conversations.
