Shortly before the release of Baldur’s Gate 3 on August 3rd (PC / Steam), the developers released a video in which the lead systems designer gives a brief insight into all classes and sub-classes.
What kind of video is this? In the English video on YouTube, interviewer Todd Kenreck talks with the lead systems designer Nick Pechenin from the developer Larian Studios.
Pechenin speaks for a few minutes about each class with sub-class from Baldur’s Gate 3, always with a view on the original rules from Pen & Paper Dungeons & Dragons.
You can watch the English video here:
Here are the timestamps for each class:
- 0:29 Barbarian
- 2:26 Fighter
- 4:01 Rogue
- 6:05 Bard
- 9:52 Warlock
- 12:21 Cleric
- 14:14 Druid
- 16:38 Ranger
- 18:20 Wizard

The choice of the first class for one’s character is likely to be the most important decision for many players after release. However, keep in mind that during the game you will meet many companions who will join your group and thereby also give you access to certain classes.
