In Baldur’s Gate 3 you can face the hardest difficulty level. The Honour Mode is suitable for anyone looking for a tough challenge. But every little mistake can lead to a Game Over. Unfortunately, a player had to learn this hard lesson in the worst way.
What is the Honour Mode anyway? For those seeking a particularly challenging experience, the Honour Mode is the perfect choice. In this mode, you only have a single chance to master the game, with no option to reload.
You cannot engage in save-scumming. Any mistake, whether a bug or an unconsidered click, can mean the end of the game. Every decision must therefore be weighed carefully, as there is no second chance.

I am devastated
How did he fail? The player Gqd_King, who experienced his tragic end in Honour Mode and shares it on Reddit, had hoped to complete his run successfully. After defeating Myrkul (end of Act 2), he wanted to explore some areas – including the mountain pass in Act 1, which he had skipped.
So he stood before the mountain pass and wanted to continue, but the Emperor was against it and warned him several times to turn back, as it would mean his end. But thoughtlessly, he clicked two more times, skipped the dialogue, and probably thought that the dialogue couldn’t be important. This led to a direct Game Over and the end of his Honour run.
“I am devastated,” writes the user in his post, bidding farewell to his round in Honour Mode.

What about the Game Over? After you defeat Ketheric in Act 2, you cannot return to the mountain pass. If you do, you will experience one of the many endings in Baldur’s Gate 3. Because the Emperor no longer protects you, and the Elder Brain finds you, and you turn into a Mind Flayer.
