Baldur’s Gate 3 has so many cutscenes for various occasions that it seems impossible to see them all. For a particularly rare scene, a YouTuber has even put a bounty of about 470 euros.
Which cutscene is it? If you want to collect the monetary reward, you’ll need to look out for a very specific scene with Karlach. In this scene, she tries a spell that she learned during her time in the Hells.
The spell works, and suddenly Karlach breaks the fourth wall: she seems to realize that she is a character in a video game and addresses her questions directly to the player. You can read how the conversation goes here:
A bounty for a cutscene – but only organically, please
Which YouTuber is giving away the money? The 500 dollars or about 470 euros has been put up by YouTuber Proxy Gate Tactician. In a video, he talks about myths surrounding Baldur’s Gate 3. He first discusses whether it is possible to reach max level before act 3, whether animals larger than peacocks can enter Baldur’s Gate, and how effective the spell Create Walls
is.
Finally, he addresses the cutscene with Karlach breaking the fourth wall. Although the existence of the scene in the game has been confirmed by the voice actress (via X.com), according to in-game data, it cannot currently be triggered.
In the end, Proxy Gate Tactician sets out his reward. The YouTube video starts at the relevant moment:
How do you get the reward? The YouTuber has a very specific idea of what you need to do to receive the money: you have to show him a way in which the scene can be triggered purely through gameplay.
This means:

- No searching through in-game files
- No faking
