In Destiny 2 the winter event The Dawning has begun and Guardians can once again showcase their baking skills. Alongside old recipes from last year, there are also some new baking mixes in 2019. What do you need for these new recipes? Where can you find the ingredients? And who eventually gets the baked goods?
Your first steps as a master baker: In Destiny 2, it’s all about baking again. As part of the Dawning Festival in the Season 9, you can create various baked goods. You need to earn various ingredients, process them into specific treats, and then deliver the baked goods to the right people.
To start baking, not much is needed. Visit Eva Levante, who is currently positioned above the Eververse in the Tower. There you will find the Holiday Oven 2.0 as well as the introductory quest. This is where your baking career begins or continues. The new oven remembers all the recipes from last year if you participated then.
This is how baking works: You bake with the oven, and its operation is quite simple. The oven has three different slots. You place ingredients in the first two, and the third slot is for Dawning Essence.
This is how you combine different ingredients into recipes and can then create different baked goods. You can also upgrade the oven to a masterpiece, which reduces the amount of Dawning Essence used.
You obtain the Essence from various activities and Bounties. In short: the longer/harder the activity, the more Essence you will receive in the end.

All new baking ingredients for The Dawning 2019
This is new now: Overall, the winter event 2019 brought five new ingredients that now complement the selection from 2018. Here they are and how to obtain them:
- Diverse Flavors – through Multikills
- A Pinch of Light – Collect Orbs of Light
- Balanced Flavors – through kills with scout rifles, snipers, and bows
- Finishing Touch – through finisher kills
- Great Texture – through super kills
These are the other required ingredients: To avoid long searches, here are the needed old ingredients from last year:
- Vex Milk – through Vex kills
- Aether Cane – through Fallen kills
- Kabal Oil – through Kabal kills
- Chitin Powder – through Hive kills
- Possessed Butter – through Possessed kills
- Dark Aether Cane – through Scorn kills
- Tasty Explosion – through kills from an explosion, so through rocket launchers, grenade launchers, or grenades
- Personal Touch – through melee kills
Be aware: Not every kill automatically drops an ingredient.
All new Dawning recipes 2019 for the Holiday Oven 2.0
At the Dawning Festival 2019, there are a total of 7 new recipes that you can turn into delicious baked goods. These now add to the previous 16-item repertoire from last year. Here are the new treats and their recipients:
Fractal Rolls: Vex Milk, a Pinch of Light and Dawning Essence. Take this delicacy to Brother Vance on Mercury.
Ascendant Oatmeal Raisin Cookies: Chitin Powder, Finishing Touch and Dawning Essence. Bring it to Eris Morn.
Thousand Layers Cookie: Possessed Butter, Tasty Explosion and Dawning Essence. The cookie will go to the Ahamkara Riven. However, you must be in the Raid Last Wish.
Head to the Wall of Wishes and enter the 7th Wish. This will take you directly to Riven. Stand on one of the plates (or multiple, if you are in a fireteam), and this will start the encounter.
You will fall through the floor down into the dark chamber. There, you will find a kind of glowing orb or sphere.
Now interact with it, and the task is complete.
Lavender Ribbon Cookies: Vex Milk, Personal Touch, Dawning Essence. This baked good should then be delivered to Saint-14 (the 14th Saint) in the Tower.
The 14th Saint in the Tower Hangar: According to the description, the 14th Saint is supposed to be in the hangar of the Tower. However, that is not the case yet – not even after completion of the impossible task.
It is suspected that he will only arrive with the weekly reset on December 24th. For now, patience is needed.
Beetroot Cake: Kabal Oil, Diverse Flavors, Dawning Essence. This cake will then be delivered to Benedict 99-40 at the left landing zone in the Tower.
Hot Cross Buns: Aether Cane, Balanced Flavors, Dawning Essence. You will bring this creation to Ada-1 in the Tower.
Fried Dough Shadow: Dark Aether Cane, Great Texture, Dawning Essence. You will then take this treat to the Visage of Calus, which is the golden Calus statue in the Tribute Hall.
