Some also want to play Back 4 Blood solo. The developers are listening and will bring the offline campaign – with progress.
The co-op zombie shooter Back 4 Blood has been released for a few weeks now. And although the game has been generally well received, there are still a number of criticisms and issues that need to be fixed. A few player wishes will likely also be implemented.
What will be done? Back 4 Blood will soon have an option to play the campaign solo in offline mode – with progress. Although this is not precisely defined, it likely means that players can also earn “Supply Points” alone in the future. So far, this has only been possible in co-op. Supply Points are needed to unlock new cards and cosmetics.
There is already a solo mode where all cards are unlocked, but there is no progress. Whether all cards remain unlocked while collecting Supply Points in solo play is still not entirely clear.
Where does the info come from? There is a public Trello board maintained by the developers of Back 4 Blood. It lists the larger issues that are currently being addressed, what is being investigated, and what wishes will be implemented in the future. Some players have noticed that in recent days, the point “Offline Campaign with Progression” has been added and updated. Thus, the “investigation is complete” and they are now working on the “implementation of the offline campaign including progression”.
What else is being worked on? Back 4 Blood has more plans for the future and aims to introduce a number of adjustments, including a new map. Highlights of the upcoming patches include:
- A map that allows players to detach weapon add-ons.
- Improvements for “ultra-wide” monitors.
- A Streamer mode that replaces problematic music.
- Issues with spawning special zombies.
Apart from that, there are small bug fixes, such as the odd circumstance that the secondary weapon is not loaded with ammunition at the beginning of a new map or unusually large groups of special zombies can appear.
Is there more to come? Yes. Back 4 Blood will also be expanded with 3 paid DLCs throughout the next year. These will include new stories, new zombie variants, and generally more gameplay. However, there will be no split in the player base. In PvP (Swarm), all content will still be accessible or can be earned, while in PvE, it is sufficient for one player in the group to own the respective DLC – the other 3 players can then also access it.
However, there is still no exact date for the patch or the DLCs.
