Attention shiny hunters: Pokémon GO starts a strong research event on Sunday

In Pokémon GO a research event around Flunschlik starts on Sunday, April 23, 2023. What to expect, you can find out here.

What kind of event is it? It is “Limited Research”, an event focused on field research tasks. You have to collect these tasks by spinning PokéStops.

Once you have completed the tasks, you will encounter Flunschlik and Galar-Flunschlik.

When does the event run? It starts on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at 2:00 PM. It will run until 5:00 PM local time.

So you have three hours to embark on a research journey and look for the two Flunschlik variants – including their shiny forms.

Better shiny chance for Flunschlik due to research event

This is exciting for shiny hunters: Galar-Flunschlik has been in the game longer as shiny, but the regular Flunschlik is celebrating its shiny debut at this event. You can now catch its shiny version for the first time.

And the chances are better than usual, because: According to the announcement, the shiny chance for Flunschlik and Galar-Flunschlik will be increased during the event.

Is it worth it to catch Flunschlik? For shiny collectors, the hunt is certainly worth it, but Galar-Flunschlik also has a good place in the battle league. According to PvPoke database, Galar-Flunschlik is even ranked 2 in the super league among the best Pokémon. It also performs very well in the hyper league (rank 24), but falls short in the master league.

The regular Flunschlik is rather negligible in PvP. And among the best attackers against gyms and raids in Pokémon GO, neither of them belongs.
