You love Atlas Reactor but don’t want to pay anything for it? Then rejoice because the crazy cyberpunk action game with turn-based gameplay will not only receive a new story season but will also become a proper free-to-play game.
Until now, Trion’s turn-based action strategy game Atlas Reactor was a buy-to-play title. Those who didn’t want to pay had to make do with a stripped-down free version, in which only a handful of the over 20 freelancer heroes were playable each week. As a player of the free version, unlike in Heroes of the Storm or LoL, players couldn’t unlock any additional heroes and couldn’t even purchase them with real money!
Finally Free-to-Play
Many players found this arrangement silly and wanted Atlas Reactor to be a proper free-to-play game. Therefore, the developers listened to the community, and starting January 17, you will be able to unlock more freelancers in Atlas Reactor through in-game progress or real money. Those who purchased the full version will continue to receive all heroes for free and will even get a small thank you gift at the start of free-to-play.
On January 17, the second season of the story of Atlas Reactor begins, meaning there will not only be new episodes in the background story but also you can look forward to new freelancers and cool loot. Even the tutorial will be improved and is intended to bring players into the game faster!
Jürgen says: I found the payment model of Atlas Reactor as a buy-to-play game with a kind of unlimited demo version actually quite okay and found the price for the full version reasonable. Therefore, I don’t need a free-to-play model with purchasable freelancers. But okay, as long as no pay-to-win methods are introduced this way, and I still get all freelancers for free with my full version, I’m fine with it.
