Place 1: Winterfell
Winterfell Castle is the old and venerable seat of House Stark. It is considered extremely difficult to conquer, especially in winter. Because the castle is located in the middle of the north, from where the Starks rule over their rugged land.
Since season 1, Winterfell has been an important location in the series. Accordingly, many deadly incidents have occurred there. Particularly relevant for our list are the major battles, of which there were several. First, Winterfell was captured by the Boltons in the Battle of Winterfell
(season 5, episode 10). In the Battle of the Bastards
, Jon retakes the fortress and thus gains control over the north (season 6, episode 9). Finally, Jon, Daenerys, and their allies fight against the Night King himself at Winterfell (season 8, episode 3). Especially this last battle, which alone claimed nearly 3,500 victims, makes Winterfell the undisputed first place on this list.
