Only now is Dead by Daylight plagued by a problem. The matches are unfair and newcomers are mercilessly scared off.
With the “Stranger Things” chapter, Dead by Daylight has actually caught its big haul and could attract thousands of new players to the 4vs1 horror game. However, there is currently a disastrous bug that ruins the gaming experience for newcomers. Dead by Daylight has suffered from this very bug in the past.
What is the bug? Those currently searching for a match in Dead by Daylight quickly find teammates and can start playing right away. However, only after completing the map does one see in the end menu of the game: The ranks of the players do not match at all. It repeatedly occurs that killers ranked 18-20 face off against four survivors ranked 1-5. Conversely, it can also happen that a rank-1 killer faces survivors who are still playing at the “beginner” ranks.
Newcomers’ entry is ruined: Currently, there are particularly many newcomers in Dead by Daylight who have such a negative gaming experience. A “fresh” player ranked 20, who has not unlocked any perks and has hardly any experience, has no chance against experienced players in the higher ranks. For both sides, these matches become quite boring, and the sense of achievement for newcomers is completely absent.
That’s why this is so fatal: A few days ago, the “Stranger Things” DLC launched alongside a “Free Weekend” for Dead by Daylight. Fans of the Netflix series now have the opportunity to try out the game for free and get an impression of it. If they only get “beaten up” and face players with hundreds or thousands of hours of experience, they will find little joy in Dead by Daylight and will hardly become long-term players.
