The Asia MMORPG Astellia is set to release in our region this year. With the Astels, it aims to stand out from other games. We reveal what exactly is behind it.
What are Astels? Astels are small summons that assist you in battle. They are designed to support you while you explore the game world on your own.
At the same time, they also introduce a new tactical component to the game. Since you can use up to three of a total of 21 Astels simultaneously, it’s up to you how you combine them.
Additionally, all Astels can level up and be improved by players. You can equip them with gems that enhance their stats.
How do I obtain Astels? Astels can normally be collected while playing. Some are obtained through story quests, while others are dropped as rewards from tough enemies or dungeon bosses.
If you receive a duplicate Astel, it will be consumed immediately and grant experience points to the Astels already in use.
Many different combinations
The special thing about this system is that you can combine the Astels freely. They can be used for healing, as mages, or as tanks.
What can the Astels do? Each Astel takes on a specific role on the battlefield:
- Knight
- Warrior
- Assassin
- Scholar
- Muse
- Mage
- Archer
Knights are the tanks, while Warriors and Assassins focus on melee damage. Mages and Archers deal ranged damage, while Scholars and Muses take on the role of healers.
To summon and maintain an Astel, a resource is needed. The stronger the summons, the more resources they consume.
How many Astels are there? Currently, there are 21 different Astels, which can be divided into three strengths:
- Servants – Weak Astels, easy to earn, require little resources
- Guardians – Stronger Astels, require more resources
- Saviors – Strongest Astels, but only available for a short time
Each of the seven combat roles is represented once in each strength.
Tactical aspect of the Astels: It can be tactically wise to use the stronger Astels and thus take temporary control of the battle.
However, it can also be useful to summon a weaker Astel and thus benefit from the reinforcement over a longer period.
Additionally, there are special combo attacks that can be executed together with the Astel. A player Assassin can teleport behind the opponent using a backstab and deal a lot of damage.
If he has an Assassin Astel by his side, this also executes a teleport to the opponent and carries out a joint combo attack with the backstab.
These combo attacks, along with the dynamic dodge roll, contribute to an interesting combat system in Astellia.
Astellia comes to Europe
Can Astellia succeed in our region? Things are currently going well for Astellia in Korea. Therefore, the developers want to bring it to the West. Many changes are being made for this.
The game will be Buy-to-Play and some content like gender-lock will be disabled. Many Pay-to-Win elements will also be omitted. Additionally, the MMORPG is expected to be released in German.
