A mix of trading card game and MMORPG with massive battles and fights against gigantic boss monsters is what Nexon aims to offer us with Astellia.
Over the upcoming weekends, there will be repeated closed beta events before the game transitions to an open beta at an undisclosed time. Then, everyone can get their own impression of the MMORPG.

Summoning using collectible cards
Astellia is an Asia MMO with a unique ability system. You create a hero from the classes Warrior, Archer, Rogue, Scholar, and Mage and use card decks to grant your hero specific abilities in the form of the so-called Astels. These are powerful creatures that you can summon in battle.
To obtain new Astels, you must find more cards. Each Astel can be improved by increasing its skills or granting it new powers. Astels are crucial for the outcome of battles.
In these encounters, you face gigantic boss monsters that you can only defeat as a team using the Astels of your group members. Therefore, it is important to always make tactical decisions about how to build your card deck and which Astels you want to take into battle.
Astellia also offers gigantic battles involving hundreds of players and monsters. Both in PvE and PvP, players should find something to enjoy. For example, exciting arena fights frequently take place in a coliseum.
Plenty to do in a colorful world
Otherwise, you can expect a large game world that is colorful yet detailed and which you can explore with mounts. Danger and challenges lurk everywhere that you need to overcome to improve your hero. You can get a sense of how Astellia plays through the closed beta – provided you speak Korean, as the Astellia website is currently only available in that language.
Andreas says:
The deck system of Astellia could be the aspect that the game needs to be somewhat successful here in Germany. Not many Asia MMORPGs manage to establish themselves in Europe.
Nevertheless, the game leaves a very good impression. It looks good and the massive battles as well as the fights against boss opponents could be very fun.
