The STG44 is considered the best assault rifle after the launch of Call of Duty: Vanguard and is even stronger than initially thought shortly after the release. A combination of attachments makes it absolutely overpowered, and MeinMMO shows you “one of the strongest classes that has ever existed in a CoD multiplayer.”
What kind of weapon is this? The STG44 is basically THE assault rifle. The weapon is the founder of the modern assault rifle class and the base model with which everything began.
In Call of Duty: Vanguard, the STG44 benefits immensely from this experience, as it is one of the best weapons after launch and is currently significantly overpowered with the right setup. How you can benefit from the 2-shot STG is shown here on MeinMMO.

What makes the STG44 strong? Actually, we would praise its versatility and the countless possibilities that the STG44 offers you. But at the moment, it is the combination of 2 attachments that makes the weapon really strong:
- Ammunition attachment: Short Russian .30 30-round magazine
- Perk attachment: Vital
It became clear shortly after release that “Vital” is too strong. Combined with the larger caliber of the short Russian magazine, the STG becomes really outrageous.
With the Russian rounds, you can take down enemies with 2 headshots, and “Vital” also causes headshot damage to the chest area. This means you can easily take down your opponents with 2 bullets – hits to the chest area are more the rule than the exception for skilled players.
What is the STG44 not so good at? With the Russian rounds, you lose control, and the STG44 fights significantly more against your commands than with the normal magazine. With some practice and the right attachments, you can counter this, and the struggle against recoil is definitely worth the high damage.
In close combat, you are at a disadvantage regarding mobility. However, even here, the damage helps you, and even if you start shooting later, if your bullets hit, you will get the kill.
You will also unlock the important attachments very late. Check out our level guide to quickly level up the weapons. However, if you have played the beta up to level 20, you won’t need to unlock much. The STG blueprint “Rattern” already has both attachments.
A nerf is also possible in the foreseeable future.
Vanguard: STG44 Setup Only Needs 2 Hits
What does a strong setup look like? Choose “Vital” and the Russian magazine. That should actually be enough to get started. With the other attachments, you reduce recoil and ensure better precision. Build the setup in a way that you compensate for the disadvantages of the heavy rounds.
As a recommendation, we show you a tested setup by the German CoD YouTuber “STYLERZ” (via YouTube):
Vanguard: STG44 Setup
- Muzzle: MX Silencer
- Barrel: VDD 760mm 05B
- Sight: G16 2.5x
- Stock: Constance Tactical Stock
- Underbarrel: M3 Tactical Grip
- Magazine: Short Russian .30 30-round magazine
- Ammunition Type: Extended
- Grip: Fabric Grip
- Perk: Vital
- Kit: Fully Loaded
Who should try the STG? Right now, almost every playstyle benefits from the incredible strength of the weapon. The combination of high damage and the perk “Vital” is extremely strong and can get you many kills and angry opponents.
Or to put it in the words of STYLERZ: “I can’t remember the last time we had something in a CoD multiplayer that was so unbelievably OP […] with the strongest class that has ever existed in a CoD multiplayer.”
Play around with the setup options a bit, also try a small sight or focus on your speed into aim down sight (ADS speed).
Call of Duty: Vanguard brings the old World War II weapons with the latest technology to your screen and also provides a few overpowered weapon options again.
In the battle royale Warzone, the CoD developers have shown in recent months that they know what’s wrong with their weapons and what proper balancing looks like. If Vanguard takes a page from that book, this brutal STG44 may soon be a bit weaker. Until then, however, the assault rifle will dominate the battlefields.
