In Monster Hunter World there is a new crossover, giving players a new skin for their gear. True to its origins from Assassin’s Creed, the new skin has been somewhat hidden.
So this is how it happened: The new event “SDF: Silent, Deadly, and Fierce” has been available in Monster Hunter World on PS4 and Xbox One since December 28, 2018.
As a reward for the event, players can earn the skins of Bayek from Assassin’s Creed Origins and Ezio Auditore from Assassin’s Creed 2.
There was already a collaboration brewing back in October, but only now are we learning more about it.
The skins were not announced directly. Instead, the tweet simply stated “Complete the quest to get special materials.” Shortly thereafter, Monster Hunter published a tweet featuring a video of the skins in “Assassin’s Creed” style.
New “Assassin’s Creed” Crossover in Monster Hunter
What do I need to do? To get the new skins, you only need to complete the event “SDF: Silent, Deadly, and Fierce.” The quest requires you to defeat three of the most aggressive monsters in the game in an arena:
- Odogaron
- Deviljho
- Lunastra
Odogaron and Deviljho appear first in the arena. You can lure them quite easily and make them fight each other. Just wait until one of them is dead, and then you can hop into the arena to finish off the survivor.
In the meantime, simply edit both monsters from a safe distance. Special equipment like ballistae and cannons are particularly useful for this. When you engage in active combat, play especially aggressively.
After the second opponent is defeated, Lunastra will appear. Fight Lunastra as aggressively as possible and take her down. If you have trouble, just ask others for help who are also working on the quest.
How do I get the skins? After you have defeated all the monsters, you will receive a feather from Senu, a keepsake from Bayek’s eagle. To obtain one of the skins, you need two of the feathers.
The two feathers can then be exchanged for one of the capes:
- Bayek’s cape is purely cosmetic and has worse stats than other capes like Dante’s (Devil May Cry).
- The second cape is Ezio’s iconic cloak, which functions similarly to the camouflaging Ghillie cloak. It increases stealth and movement speed.
PC players have to wait: Currently, the new capes are only available to players on PS4 and Xbox One. In a tweet, it was mentioned that the PC version would receive the update later.
Are you getting the new capes right away? Or do you still need to get Monster Hunter World? If you’re having a hard time deciding:
