What is this about? We at MeinMMO like to conduct surveys. As an editorial team, we find it exciting to see what opinions our readers have on certain topics within gaming and what discussions arise from them.
However, everything works differently here. You can ask the authors team of MeinMMO questions in the comments under this article that you have always been curious about. You can think of it as a sort of “Ask me anything” thread, like the ones often found on Reddit.
Your questions will be collected and evaluated by us. Subsequently, we will publish the most interesting questions and our answers in a new article.
There is also the possibility that your questions will be answered by us in a live stream. You can vote for this at the bottom of the article.
What questions can you ask? In general, you can ask us all sorts of questions as long as they comply with our site rules.
Here are some examples of the topics you can ask questions about:
- about editorial processes: topic selection, daily work of MeinMMO authors, or strategic planning leading up to major game releases.
- about decisions regarding the site: site layout, advertisements, or special features.
- about insider processes in the gaming industry: processes of events under embargo, collaboration with publishers, or a general “behind the scenes” look or working as a gaming journalist.

You can direct your questions at the whole team or to individual members; it is up to you.
The Faces of MeinMMO
Who is part of the team? The team of MeinMMO has grown in recent years and has undergone many changes. Here is an overview with information about all members. You can ask them questions specific to their area.
Management
Dawid Hallmann: Dawid is the founder of MeinMMO, who established the site in 2013 and has continued to expand it. He now leads the team leaders of MeinMMO, GameStar, and GamePro into the future as Head of Digital Publishing at Webedia Gaming.
Some say that the concept of “free time” is completely foreign to Dawid and that he is always working. However, this is not true, as he was spotted in Cuba riding a donkey and, erm … giving instructions to the team.
Gerd Schuhmann: If you have ever been on MeinMMO, you have certainly read at least one article by Schuhmann. As editor-in-chief, he not only writes articles himself but also checks the content published on MeinMMO daily and coordinates the editorial team.
For a long time, there were rumors on MeinMMO that Schuhmann is not a human but an artificial intelligence. However, we can assure you that these rumors have no basis. Beep beep.
Leya Jankowski: Like many other employees, Leya originally started as a freelance author on the site in 2016. She is now the brand manager and has her fingers in many pies. She directs many processes behind the scenes and is also keen on new, exciting games that fit our site and you, our readers.
Leya enjoys playing action RPGs like Monster Hunter and multiplayer shooters in her free time. However, her special passion is writing dinosaur guides for Ark Survival Evolved. /SarcasmOff.
Technology
Ben Kahl-Grasenack: Most of you have probably never heard of Ben, yet the site would not function properly without him. As a senior web developer & technical lead PHP, he ensures that everything runs smoothly both when reading articles and writing in the backend at MeinMMO every day.
Ben is the only person in the MeinMMO team with scientifically proven superpowers. When Irie rushes to him again because something isn’t working on the site, he only needs to snap his fingers like Thanos.
Editorial Board
Patrick Freese: Patrick is also one of the oldest team members at MeinMMO. Since 2015, he has been posting articles on various topics in the gaming field every day. He also takes on organizational tasks and supports Schuhmann in team coordination.
In the secret circles of the editorial team, Patrick is also known as the Photoshop professional to turn to when a poor title image needs to disappear from the site and be replaced by a better one. Discreet and unobtrusive.
Alexander Leitsch: Before landing here, Alex ran his own fan site for Guild Wars 2. At MeinMMO, he mainly handles the area of MMORPGs and also helps in the organizational field.
According to his own statement, Alex has played almost every free MMORPG that has come out in the last 15 years. Nevertheless, he manages to be surprisingly bad at it.
Jürgen Horn: Before his work here, Jürgen wrote for many other gaming sites and gained experience. At MeinMMO, he writes about the latest topics in the gaming sector regardless of genre. Because he can.
In the gaming industry, Jürgen is feared due to his curse. It is said that every game he really enjoys will meet a terrible fate in the near future. But probably this is just superstition within the editorial team; his beloved ESO is doing well.
Noah Struthoff: Noah is one of the authors who comes from the MeinMMO community; he was once a reader himself. Now, he writes news about all topics and also supports the team with organizational questions. He also manages the large Pokémon GO group of MeinMMO on Facebook.
According to a legend, since the launch of Pokémon GO in 2016, Noah has caught so many Pokémon that Niantic’s servers couldn’t handle it and crashed. Since then, he has his own dedicated Noah server.
Irina Moritz: Irie first joined MeinMMO in January 2018, initially writing news about Asian MMORPGs such as Final Fantasy XIV and later Lost Ark. She has now taken over community management and provides you with articles about the MeinMMO community.
Pro tip: Never bring up the subject of Final Fantasy with Irie. Once she gets started, she won’t stop. It’s like with conspiracy theorists; just don’t go there.
Freelancers
Cortyn Nightshade: The only person in the MeinMMO team who has been there longer than Cortyn is the founder, Dawid. As the veteran and our demon of the service, Cortyn takes care of all news related to Blizzard, with a focus on WoW.
There are legends about the epic meme battles between Cortyn and Schuhmann in the editorial chat. Although the number of victories probably tends to favor Cortyn.
Sven Galitzki: If you have read news about Destiny or The Division on MeinMMO, you will know Sven. The freelance author mainly takes care of online shooters and news about Sony products.
Few know that Sven was an officer in the Bundeswehr before his brilliant career at MeinMMO. He decided to hang up this extremely boring job because it is simply much cooler at MeinMMO.
Benedict Grothaus: If there is someone at MeinMMO who knows about survival games, it is Benedict. His specialty is Fallout 76. He started writing for the site as a freelance author in 2017 and deals with topics around survival games, competitive shooters, and esports.
Benedict’s beard has achieved legendary status in the editorial office. It has grown beautifully over the years. Every gaming editorial team should have a beard as epic as his.
Andreas Bertits: Andreas is also one of the oldest freelance employees of MeinMMO. He has been writing articles for the site since 2015. He covers everything related to MMOs and multiplayer genres.
Andreas is a super brain when it comes to MMOs and knows a lot about numerous areas because he enjoys discovering new worlds for himself. However, you can also ask him questions related to freelance journalism.
Max Handwerk: As a passionate football fan, Max is primarily responsible for crunchy news about FIFA games at MeinMMO. Otherwise, he is involved in all sorts of genres, whether on the PS4 or the Nintendo Switch.
One of Max’s greatest qualities is definitely his optimism. No matter how many truly terrible cards he pulls each week for his team at FIFA, he never gives up hope. Next week will definitely be better.
Julian Schröder: When it comes to football and FIFA, Julian is one of the top people at Mein MMO. He started writing for the site in February 2019 and mainly deals with articles about EA’s sports game.
Julian himself claims to love his Nintendo Switch so much that he takes it everywhere with him. In reality, he can’t help it, as the Switch has practically grown onto him and would need to be surgically removed otherwise.
Kevin Nielsen: Since February 2017, Kevin has been looking for the hottest deals in gaming, hardware, and entertainment for MeinMMO. However, his true passion lies with Blizzard games, especially WoW.
Kevin is one of the deal hunters at MeinMMO. His instinct for deals and bargains is almost uncanny. It is rumored that he has “connections to the top.” However, where this mysterious “top” is located is not quite clear.
Larissa Then: Larissa originally joined the team to support us during the launch of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, which she plays passionately. However, she is also fascinated by ESO and has already written many articles about the MMORPG.
If you happen to find yourself in the same raid as Larissa, beware of rolling her the gear. To you, they may be “just some cloth shoes” but for Larissa, they are worth virtually throttling you. Really.
Eilyn Rapp: If it comes to Fortnite, Eilyn is the expert at MeinMMO. She covers all news related to the popular battle royale game from Epic and plays it a lot in her free time. However, she doesn’t miss out on some rounds of GTA Online and Red Dead Redemption 2 either.
Although Eilyn feels at home in Fortnite, the core feature of the game still gives her headaches. Ironically, building does not quite work for her in the battle royale. She has come to terms with it by now.
Maik Schneider: The shooter expert Maik takes aim at all games where you hold a weapon in your hands. He joined MeinMMO in September 2019 as a freelance author and has since written guides and analyses for many current shooters like CoD MW or The Division 2.
Maik is always in a good mood and loves to tell funny life stories. However, at the end of a story, one often doesn’t remember what it was actually about in the beginning. Nonetheless, laughter is guaranteed.
Philipp Hansen: If you have read news about Destiny 2 on MeinMMO, there is at least one article by Phil among them. He joined the team to support our Sven and mainly takes care of shooters such as Destiny 2 and CoD MW.
When Philipp tells you about his incredible raid adventures in Destiny 2, you should be cautious. Because in 50% of the cases, they are, indeed, incredible. To lighten the mood, he often talks nonsense.
Benedikt Schlotmann: Benedikt has been a freelance author at MeinMMO since July 2019 and writes about everything related to hardware. When something happens with the PS5, Xbox Series X, or other exciting topics in the hardware world, he is there with news about it.
As is often the case with us nerds, Benedikt regularly serves as the “technician of the day” for the entire family. His specialty is to support his mother and sister from 300 kilometers away.
Sascha Asendorf: Sascha is the newest member of the MeinMMO team, providing you with articles on various survival games. In his free time, he also enjoys playing Minecraft, where he once rebuilt a huge WoW city.
In fact, Sascha had so much fun with his Minecraft project that he now wants to tackle the next one. So look forward to his lifelike reproduction of all of Azeroth in about 30 years. /SarcasmOff.
