The development of Ashes of Creation is advancing, and soon there will be new information about the Alpha. Alpha One will be divided into two parts – and will start soon.
Intrepid, the developers of Ashes of Creation, have announced that Alpha One will start in September 2018. The first phase of the Alpha is primarily for testing combat and PvP.
Phase 1 comes in 2018, Phase 2 in 2019
With new employees into the Alpha: Intrepid now has over 100 developers working on Ashes of Creation, and another 21 positions are to be created during August. With the new workforce, the Alpha is being advanced, which is divided into two phases:
- Phase One, starting in September 2018
- Phase Two, scheduled for Q2 2019
Who can participate? For Alpha One, all backers are allowed, who purchase a founder’s pack for at least $500 and support Intrepid. Over 8,500 players are already registered for Alpha One.
The studio has announced that enrollment for Alpha One will close. The number of participants for Alpha One will be capped at 10,000. The packs for entry into Alpha One will still be sold until August 15 at the Ashes of Creation Shop.

This will be tested: The first phase of Alpha One tests the action combat system of Ashes of Creation. You will receive a preview of this on August 17 on the Twitch channel for the game. Specifically, several game modes will also be tested:
- Open World Battlegrounds
- Castle Sieges
- City Defense in “Horde Mode” (with adaptive AI)

The second phase will illuminate the hybrid combat system of action and tab-targeting. It is also possible to customize using the skill tree of the classes. Further features of the second phase include:
- Level rise to 20
- 4 playable races
- Character customization
- 8 basic archetypes (classes)
- Parts of the housing system
- Parts of the crafting system
- Node development up to level 4
- 120 square kilometers world map
- Quests and a society/guild system
According to developers, the second phase of the Alpha will be rather “classic” for an MMORPG test. There will be two world servers, and for participants, there is a name reservation.

It continues: After Alpha One of Ashes of Creation is completed, according to plan, there will be another Alpha and two Betas before the game is released. Dates for this are not yet known.
