In a pure roughly 40-minute long video, the developers of Ashes of Creation once again showed what the upcoming MMORPG holds. This includes gameplay of the Cleric class and an impressive day-night cycle. We at MeinMMO summarize.
What kind of video is this? On December 2, the developers of the upcoming MMORPG Ashes of Creation published a new video. It features about 40 minutes of new gameplay and also some information about the game.
The video not only goes into more detail about the Cleric class but also emphasizes the day-night cycle in Ashes of Creation.
How do the times of day work? The developers explain that the times of day in Ashes of Creation change in a specific rhythm. This means that both day and night last for several hours and transition dynamically into each other.
This alters not only graphically impressively how the world around you looks but also which enemies you encounter and where you can run into them. Even the behavior of certain enemies is supposed to change depending on what time of day you encounter them.
However, within specific instances, this dynamic change is not present. The dungeons and areas disconnected from the open world have their own times of day and do not follow the cycle of the normal world.
How dark the night is is still being clarified. They want to rely on player feedback for this. However, there should be a clear visual difference compared to day.

Different damage types affect the fight
Which class is shown there? In the gameplay video, you see the Cleric class. The developers show in detail how the class works, which was not entirely clear before. The character in the video showcases gameplay around level 14, so still not too deep in the game.
The Cleric builds up a resource called Conviction, which increases his damage and improves his abilities in combat. With more Conviction, the Cleric can heal more and his healing ability will bounce off more often, thus hitting more allies.
Additionally, the Cleric focuses on holy damage. This deals more damage to undead, for example. Thus, the MMORPG is supposed to have several damage types that different monsters react to more resistant or allergic.

What other information was there? Otherwise, there were many side pieces of information that were mostly already partly known. The developers state that a character in the endgame is supposed to have access to about 20-30 abilities and that the MMORPG is generally considered somewhat more difficult than easier when it comes to battles.
In combat, there should still be synergies between different buffs and classes that can be combined accordingly to be more efficient and deal more damage. Additionally, measures will be taken to counteract the much-despised “stunlock” in PvP.
Stunlock refers to being hit by so many effects in succession that render you unable to act, resulting in standing around doing nothing and watching yourself die for a longer period. However, the details on how this will work are not disclosed.
What do you think of the video? Are you already looking forward to Ashes of Creation or do you think the MMORPG is being overhyped? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments here on MeinMMO.
