The Kickstarter campaign for the MMORPG Ashes of Creation has started and the funding goal has already been exceeded.
The ideas that the developers have for Ashes of Creation seem to resonate well with players. As soon as the Kickstarter campaign launched on the first of May, the funding goal of $750,000 was reached and exceeded in less than twelve hours.
The development team thanks all supporters and reiterates that everyone on the team is passionately dedicated to the project, which arose from their love for the MMORPG genre. The first stretch goals have also been announced.
If one million dollars are reached, then gambling in taverns will be included in the game.
At $1.25 million, group mounts will be introduced. These are mounts that must be led by a group of players, such as war elephants.
1.5 million dollars will bring ships and exploration at sea.
Ashes of Creation is an MMORPG focused on group play. Together, it is possible to change the landscape and the entire civilization. Through the node system, you determine how the area changes and develops through your actions.
If you engage in mining, you might awaken a dragon that attacks the town. If you harvest too much wood from a forest, the animals there will retaliate, and roads through the forest will become unsafe, affecting trade with other villages.
Players are at the center
In Ashes of Creation, players determine how the world evolves. This also includes a player-driven economy. Collecting resources and crafting items is very important. PvP is part of the game too. In certain areas, open PvP is possible, and even when you escort a trader caravan for protection, you can be ambushed by other players. Sieges and guild wars are also possible. However, there are also safe zones.
Since the interaction between players is so important, the developers want to bring “massively” back into the genre. A very large number of players populate the land, and only this way can the node system and economy function. If you want to participate in the Kickstarter campaign, you can still do so until June 2nd. With a contribution of $445, you will also receive a “lifetime subscription” and no longer have to pay monthly fees, as Ashes of Creation operates on a subscription model. The game is expected to be released in late 2018.
