The Intrepid Studios have released a new trailer for Ashes of Creation. This finally showcases the MMORPG again, after the focus has recently been on the battle royale part.
What can be seen in the trailer? The video gives you an overview of the MMORPG.
The trailer brings together many aspects of Ashes of Creation. PvP can be seen alongside PvE, as well as a siege. You also get an impression of the graphics and the beautiful landscapes:
- Some raptors appear as PvE enemies that the heroes fight against
- The PvP part is thematized, as a group of hostile players attacks a city with flying mounts
- The heroes charge out of the city on horseback and a battle ignites – including siege weapons
- Dragons appear and seem to defend the city as well
What is special about the trailer? On one hand, the trailer gives the impression that the game is quite far along. This can be misleading, as it seems to be in-game graphics, but no real gameplay is shown.
On the other hand, it is finally a sign of life from the MMORPG part of Ashes of Creation. Currently, there is an impression that the developers are focusing on the battle royale part, Ashes of Creation: Apocalypse. Recently, a test phase started again for this.
Work on the MMORPG continues
What’s new regarding the MMORPG? As the team announced in July, work is continuing on the MMORPG alongside Apocalypse. Creatures for the world are currently being created, including horses. The developers are also working on internal systems that are very important for Alpha 1.
This includes the caravan system. Through this, the mayors of cities can establish trade routes to other locations. The system is largely dependent on the nodes, which determine how an area develops through player interaction.
Trade routes are an important aspect of the game. Caravans must be protected, and other players can raid them. Additionally, trade can lead to players building good or bad relations with other cities – even wars are possible.
Work on the MMORPG part of Ashes of Creation is thus progressing, and the new trailer makes it exciting again to finally be able to play the online game.
