The great new MMORPG Ashes of Creation already has a battle royale mode in alpha. However, it is unclear whether the fun mode will make it into the final version.
What is the battle royale in Ashes of Creation all about? In the current alpha of Ashes of Creation, new parts of the game are released for testing repeatedly. Among them is a battle royale mode where 100 players fight against each other until death.
It features the usual BR gameplay, including a jump from a great height, randomly distributed weapons, and treasure chests that shine and make sounds.
What is it about? The new mode is even rooted in the lore of the game. It is supposedly a tragic event from the past when the people of Verra left the land.
A malfunction of the portal caused a great slaughter. As a reward, there are special cosmetics in the style of the ancient civilization of Verra.
The battle royale mode is, according to studio head Steven Sharif, easy to program and would be a lot of fun to play. Fans agree. However, you might not see the mode in the final version of Ashes of Creation.
Battle Royale is currently just a test for PvP mechanics
Don’t get used to it: According to the developers, you should not get too used to the battle royale mode. The mode has only been programmed to test various PvP mechanics for now. Battle Royale is not a major option for the finished game.
However, Steven Sharif does not rule out that the battle royale mode will never return. After all, it is not hard to program.
If the game performs well after release and the key features, such as the leveling world or the sophisticated hybrid combat system are sufficiently finished, there could well be a return of the BR mode.
