The term housing zone refers to areas that are owned by players and can be customized by them. Normally, there is no combat in these areas; rather, they are reserved for roleplay and socializing. In some cases, trophies are displayed in the houses, palaces, or fortresses of players or guilds, or trade is conducted. Housing also serves as a status symbol for particularly successful players in many MMORPGs.
