Some users believe that VR in gaming could become really big. An artist has now presented a futuristic-looking gaming controller.
The interest of gamers in VR technology is evident from the success of the VR MMORPG Zenith: The Last City. The VR MMORPG was so successful that the servers crashed. Positive feedback was also given for the VR mode of Lost Ark, although it probably won’t become a reality.
Now an artist and designer has introduced a new controller for PS5 and Xbox. And it looks really stylish at first glance.
Gaming controller designed with the PS5 in mind
Who developed the device? The person behind the controller is Tom Man. He is an industrial and graphic designer from Israel. He develops new product designs for companies as well as for exhibitions. In this context, he has already worked for the Israeli National Bank and an antiques museum.
What kind of controller is this? The ViR is a VR controller that Tom Man has specifically designed for shooter games (via tommandesign.com). According to the website Yankodesign, the artist was inspired by the official design of the PS5 DualSense controller and it is also supposed to have features like haptic feedback.
With the ViR, Man opts for an ergonomic design and a compact size. The design of the controller resembles futuristic weapons from movies. Many of you will surely like the thought of being able to play current shooters on your Xbox or PS5 with such a controller in the future.
Aim controllers already exist from other manufacturers
This type of controller, which looks like a pistol, is actually not entirely new. For example, Sony offers an aim controller for VR on PlayStation 4. This also looks like a pistol but appears somewhat bulkier than the artist’s design. You can still use PSVR on the PS5, by the way.
