Arnold Schwarzenegger explained how he stands on a possible return to his biggest role

Could we see Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator once again in the future? In an interview, the action star spoke about his iconic role and how he feels about a comeback.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on May 16, 2023, Arnold Schwarzenegger talked about his life and career.

The action legend also discussed the Terminator franchise and explained how he currently feels about his iconic role.

“The franchise is not done. I am done.” 

What did the star say about a possible return? Arnold Schwarzenegger made it quite clear that while he sees more projects in the Terminator universe, he himself has moved on from the series.

“The franchise is not done. I am done. I have heard the message loud and clear that the world wants to move on to something else when it comes to The Terminator. Someone needs to come up with a great idea.” 

However, he looks back on the films positively and gratefully, even though the last two titles did not perform as well:

“The Terminator was largely responsible for my success, which is why I have always liked it. The first three films were great. I wasn’t involved in number four [Salvation] because I was governor. The fifth [Genisys] and sixth [Dark Fate] were not as successful for me. We knew that beforehand because they were just not well written.”

Even if you probably won’t see Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator again, you can currently watch an action-comedy and spy series with the star on Netflix called Fubar.

In it, Schwarzenegger plays a CIA spy who is actually looking forward to his upcoming retirement. However, he finds out on his last mission that his daughter is also a secret agent in the organization. Unwillingly, the two work together.
