The military MMO Armored Warfare shifts parts of production to Russia. Some developers will be left unemployed.
Armored Warfare is a co-production of Ilfonic and Obsidian, two US development studios, and My.com, a Russian publisher. Obsidian (Tyranny, Pillars of Eternity) is leading the project. As Obsidian’s CEO Feargus Urquhart confirms, a portion of the developers working on Armored Warfare now has to be laid off because the publisher My.com decided to move part of the development to their headquarters in Moscow.
They remain proud of Armored Warfare and all the work that has already gone into the game and will continue to do so. Urquhart wishes the laid-off employees all the best. They will try to find them jobs at other studios.
