The survival MMO Ark Survival Evolved will soon receive the promised split-screen mode on Xbox One.
Just before the console release in December the developers of Ark promised fans that a split-screen mode would also be supported. This is the popular “couch coop,” allowing players to play together on one console. In an era of “always on” and “please stay in your own living room,” it has become a rare but still desired feature that is part of many console players’ traditions.
Since the initial announcement, not much has been heard about the split-screen. Now, Studio Wildcard revealed in the patch notes that the mode will be coming soon. In the next patch, version 7.310 for Xbox One, “split-screen multiplayer will be available for both online and local play.”
Little more has been said about the next patch for consoles yet, and no release date is known.
