Cybernetic Power Suits, Giga Laser Cannon Dino Helmets, Jetpacks, and a futuristic underwater base – all of this comes with the new Ark Survival Evolved “Tek Tier”.
ARK Survival Evolved will pull quite a bit from the sci-fi box with the new “Tek Tier”. With the “Tek Tier” update next year, it will be possible to equip yourself with technologies that will make the fight for survival even more epic. You will be able to soar into the skies with jetpacks, new armors will grant you high speed, and there will be laser weapons – for you and your dinos!
What “Tek Tier” Brings to Ark
The “Tek Tier” will be a new technology that rewards robust survivors in the endgame with very advanced weapons and items. Most likely, the “Tek Tier” will be the next level to the metal structures. Each of the Tek technologies will be equipped with unique abilities that make them particularly attractive. The new Tek helmet comes, for example, with a heads-up display that can show you through colors whether there’s a hostile, neutral, or friendly creature in front of you.
The following “Tek Tier” technologies have been officially confirmed so far:
- Teleporters
- Power Armor (Tek Armor) with special properties
- Surveillance Systems
- Infrared Technology
- Force Fields
- Shield Generators
- Stealth Devices
- Plasma Rifles
- Binoculars
- Plasma Swords
- Tek Grenades
- To build “Tek Tier” technologies, a new endgame resource called “Element” and black pearls will be needed.

How ARK’s Underwater Base Will Function
To have oxygen in the base, several criteria must be met. The base must be completely sealed, so all doors closed. Additionally, a unit called “Ventilator” must be operated. Only then will your underwater base be free of water and supply you with enough oxygen. If desired, you can also install an airlock to prevent the base from being completely submerged when leaving and entering. Next year, the underwater base is expected to be available to Ark players.
“Tek Tier” will be one update among many that works towards version 1.0 next year. This is meant to be an endgame challenge, as creating Tek technologies will not be easy. The new material “Element,” which you need for the new technologies, will be very rare and not easy to obtain. But if you can have a laser dino and technologies that grant you superhero powers, you might go the extra mile.
The “Tek Tier” technologies will be gradually added to ARK over the coming months. After all, the dinos will then get cool weapons and lasers to play with and not just a castration.
