ARK Survival Evolved is set to launch the Tek Tier Patch for PS4 and Xbox One on Tuesday. What will it add? Here is an overview of the largest update for consoles so far.
Update 14.2.: According to the latest information, the Xbox One update will indeed arrive today on Tuesday with everything included. The PS4 version might still be delayed by one or two days. For ARK PS4, the new patch would then be due on Wednesday or Thursday. The Community Manager states on Twitter that the “certification day” for PS4 is later in the week than for Xbox One. Therefore, it won’t take as long after that.

The highly futuristic “Tek Tier” technology marks the beginning of the endgame for ARK Survival Evolved. Tomorrow, on February 14, the first phase of the Tek Tier will begin for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We will provide an exact time for when the patch arrives as soon as we know. The patch has been live on PC since January 30.
The update includes new equipment for survivors and dinos. In addition to the items, ARK introduces the new resource “Element,” which you can only acquire through boss fights. We will also welcome new dinos.
ARK: Tek Tier Loot, Element, and Boss Fights
To craft the new Tek Tier items, you will need the new resource “Element.” To obtain the rare Element, you must prevail in boss arenas and defeat the bosses.
Each boss has 3 difficulty levels: Easy, Medium, and Hard. If you manage to defeat the boss at each level, you will receive the Tek knowledge engram, the rare Element, and other rewards. To ultimately craft the Tek items, you will also need a Tek Replicator.
ARK: Crafting Tek Replicator
Before you dive into the futuristic dino adventure, you will need the Tek Replicator. The Tekgram you need for the Replicator is always obtained from the first boss kill.
You will need the following resources for the Replicator:
75 x Element
5000 x Metal Ingot
600 x Crystal
150 x Black Pearl
800 x Polymer
ARK: Tek Tier Phase 1 – New Items and Laser-Dinos
First, Studio Wildcard is launching the Tek-age with Phase 1. Additional phases will be added to the game over time. In Phase 1, you can expect these items.
Tek Helmet – Contains three types of vision: Sonar (identifies Tribes, Allies, Enemies, and Creatures), Night (see in the dark), a combination of Sonar and Night. The helmet has a built-in oxygen tank.
Tek Boots – Boots that allow you to run up walls and ignore fall damage.
Tek Shirt – Functions as a jetpack.
Tek Pants – Provide super speed, allowing the player to sprint through objects. Together with the Tek Shirt, they give more flight speed.
Tek Gauntlets – Deliver a powerful power strike.
Tek Rifle – The rifle can be synchronized with the Tek Helmet and deal double damage, runs on the new resource Element.
Tek Rex Saddle – Gives the T-Rex lasers.
Tek Replicator – Required to craft Tek Tier items.
Tek Transmitter – Teleporter that can transfer characters, creatures, and items.
