Phoenix
The Phoenix or Firebird belongs to the family of mythical creatures and is only seen during an event. It is shy and will flee if attacked.
You can find the Phoenix here: You can only find the Phoenix on Scorched Earth during a heat wave. It flies high in the sky and circles around. It never lands, and once the heat wave is over, it turns to ash.
Taming the Phoenix
The Phoenix is a shy creature that will flee as soon as you attack it. During the heat wave on Scorched Earth, the best way to tame it is to use a fire Wyvern. Taming does not work as you might expect.
The Phoenix never lands, so you must go up to it. You can tame it by attacking it with a flamethrower, fire arrows, or the fire breath of the Wyvern. This process takes a while, and you must keep attacking continuously to avoid decreasing the progress bar. If the heat wave ends, the Phoenix turns to ash, and the taming fails.
It becomes easier with a cage. If you find a pile of ash, you can build a cage around it. This should be at least 7 walls high since the Phoenix will rise from its pile of ash during the next heat wave. Then use a flamethrower to tame it.
Once tamed, the Phoenix only eats sulfur and must be mounted in the air, as it cannot land on the ground even in its tamed state.
How to Craft the Saddle
To fly the successfully tamed Phoenix, you do not need a saddle.
Utility of the Phoenix
The Phoenix is the fastest flying creature with its special attack but has a large turning radius. This makes the Phoenix an excellent travel mount. It is also well-suited as a golem killer, as the fire attacks are very strong. For this, it is best to level health points, attack power, and stamina.
Metals and raw meat are automatically processed in the Phoenix’s inventory, serving as a mobile kitchen and forge.

In essence, the Phoenix is quite an all-around mount. It is also excellent for hunting or farming resources. For this, you should level up weight and attack power.
