Studio Wildcard publishes statistics for the first time on the most common causes of death in Ark: Survival Evolved. This distinguishes between dinosaurs and weapons, as well as the platform on which players have died.
In the game released in 2015, you tame wild dinosaurs and enter a hardcore survival world. Many players have been wishing for statistics and analyses about the game and related activities on reddit for some time now.
This wish was fulfilled in a Community Crunch post. Under the name “Last Week in ARK”, highlights and statistics will be published in the future.
By the way, players can expect ARK: Genesis Part 2, the next major DLC in March 2021.
These Dinosaurs and Weapons are particularly deadly in Ark
The data comes from the week of January 10 – 16, 2021, listing the top 4 deadliest dinosaurs. Additionally, Studio Wildcard has released the top 5 weapons through which players were killed in PvP.
The Top 4 Deadliest Dinosaurs in Ark
A herbivore in 4th place: Surprisingly, the Therizinosaurus is a herbivore. The Therizinosaurus is an extremely aggressive herbivore and attacks players and tames in Ark when they get too close.
Its strength is comparable to that of an Allosaurus and can destroy armor with its claws and bites in no time. In total, wild Therizinosaur killed 75,000 players in one week.
You should also fear 3rd place in the real world: The piranha is a carnivorous fish that still lurks in the tropical freshwater of South America. In Ark, a bite can break turtle shells.
A single piranha poses no threat to most players. However, encounters with them end fatally for most players due to their occurrence in groups. In one week, wild piranhas have given about 80,000 players a watery grave.
The dinosaur in 2nd place likes to scream at you: The Dilophosaurus, affectionately abbreviated to “Dilo,” is an aggressive carnivore that attacks survivors in Ark as often as it runs away. It can be found almost everywhere on the map “The Island” and is particularly audible.
Its loud screaming should not be ignored, especially by beginners. With its screeching, it announces an attack, or it runs away in panic. In 7 days, nearly 90,000 players ignored the warning and ended up in the stomach of the Dilophosaurus.
In 1st place is a predator that hunts in packs: The raptor is a highly aggressive subspecies of the Utahraptor. Typically, it hunts in small packs and uses its claws or teeth. With the curved claw on its second toe, the raptor attacks its victims during a leap.
In Ark, the raptor is a popular mount and is suitable for scouting, raiding, and hunting. A total of 125,000 players have encountered the deadly claws in one week.
The Top 5 Deadliest Weapons in ARK
In Ark: Survival Evolved, there is PvE as well as PvP. Studio Wildcard has listed the top 5 weapons through which players have died, distinguishing between PC, PS4, and Xbox. Players on Xbox and Playstation 4 use the same weapons, while a different weapon ranks first on PC.
PC players prefer bows and snipers: On PC, players primarily use the compound bow. The handy bow can be used in various ways, and nearly 20,000 players were taken down by arrows from compound bows.
A little over 15,000 PC players were taken out by the craftable sniper rifle from other players. However, more primitive weapons have also led many players in Ark to their demise:
- Spears and crossbows were responsible for nearly 11,000 deaths
- Bows caused about 10,000 fatal injuries
Xbox and PS4 players use the same weapons: The top 5 deadliest weapons in Ark, which console players use, are identical. Only the number of deaths differs:
- Deaths by spear: 9,000 on PS4, 4,100 on Xbox
- Deaths by pike: 6,000 on PS4, 3,800 on Xbox
- Deaths by bow: 5,000 on PS4, 2,500 on Xbox
- Deaths by metal pick: 2,500 on PS4, 1,300 on Xbox
If you want to see a statistic, you should contact Studio Wildcard: Every week, the developers of Ark: Survival Evolved publish a Community Crunch. In this, current events, community fan art, and from now on also statistics will be published. If you want to see an interesting statistic, you can suggest it, and with a bit of luck, this idea will be picked up and published.
