Fans of the dinosaur survival game ARK are already used to delays. The Xbox version of ARK: Survival Ascended was actually set to launch today, November 14, 2023. Instead, it has been postponed at the last moment.

Initially, they wanted to address the issues on Steam, after the surprising PC release went rather tumultuous. Now, the Xbox release has also been postponed once again.

According to Wildcard, the release on Xbox Series X|S will still happen later this week. They plan to provide a more precise time as soon as they have it, it is further stated.

What are the reactions like? They can probably best be summarized as disappointed, but not surprised
. Some potential players think it would be more surprising if the game actually comes out at some point.
Given the past that Wildcard has had with delays, some hardly believe in the release this week. Others seem to wonder if the studio is intentionally keeping announcements for the last moment and demand that they should simply inform them of a longer delay right away.
In general, it can be said that the mood after the delay of ARK 2, the discussion about server shutdowns, as well as bugs and glitches in the Steam version is not very positive. It remains to be seen whether the Xbox release can make players more forgiving.
