In ARK, everything is a bit different. This is reflected in the latest patch that brings the Christmas spirit to the mysterious island. The most notable change is – quite contrary to the real world – the snow that now covers every area of the island. But there is more than just this visual gimmick: During the night hours, one can hear strange laughter as Raptor Claus rides the skies with his reindeer to gift the players.
Those who have been nice will receive really useful things, such as new blueprints or even gift codes that can be passed on. However, those who have not been so nice will receive pieces of coal. But even those are not completely useless, as collecting enough can summon a winter version of the DodoRex.
Unfortunately, Xbox One players have to miss out on this event. But there is good news there too! According to the developers at Wildcard, they are working on a massive improvement in server performance, which should soon alleviate some frustration for all console owners.
