In ARK Survival Evolved, the release of the new map “Ragnarok” on PS4 and Xbox One has been delayed further. The PS4 update 1.28 is expected to be released this week. The PC patch v263 is now available to players.
There is currently a bit of patch chaos in ARK Survival Evolved. Console players have been waiting for a while for the update that brings the new map Ragnarok. However, it has been delayed. The new PS4 update 1.28 should be released for ARK this week. The PC received its latest patch yesterday, on July 17.
In the official Ark Survival Evolved forum, community manager Jat released more information about the delayed and upcoming patches. Here’s an overview.
ARK PS4, Xbox One: Ragnarok delayed – “It may take a while longer”
Ragnarok is a free DLC expansion for Ark Survival Evolved. This map is all about the ultimate survival struggle with icy caves and dangerous volcanoes.
Originally, the new map Ragnarok was supposed to be released tomorrow for PS4 and Xbox One. However, this did not happen. According to community manager Jat, the team at Wildcard did everything possible to meet the announced deadline. In the last two weeks, the focus has been on preparing for certification. It is now clear that the deadline cannot be met, and Ragnarok will be postponed for the third time.
Jat added that it could still take a while longer before Ragnarok arrives on PS4 and Xbox One.
On Wednesday, July 19, Studio Wildcard is expected to announce a new release date. Additionally, the developers will reveal more about the current status of Ark Survival Evolved in this announcement.
ARK’s PS4 Update 1.28 coming later this week
Jat assured that the PS4 update 1.28 will definitely arrive this week. This patch will bring a new memory management system to PS4, improving the dashboard.
Jat could not provide an exact date for the release of update 1.28. This is related to when the patch will be submitted for certification. Estimates suggest that the update can be expected between Wednesday and Thursday. So in our time zone, between July 19 and July 21.
Xbox update v759.2 – The Xbox update has already been submitted for certification and contains a fix for the LB+ button. There was an issue with the button combination of the two buttons. Additionally, with this patch, dino AI will appear again on PvE and ORP servers.
ARK Survival Evolved: PC Patch 263 is here – brings fixes & adjustments
Ark Survival Evolved is about to release. On August 8, 2017, the survival MMO will have its full launch. Additionally, alongside the digital version of ARK, a physical version will also be released.
The build for the disc of ARK Survival Evolved is nearly ready to be burned onto CD. Therefore, many adjustments to the bosses have been made in patch 263, and performance has been worked on.
Examples from the patch notes include:
- The spawn rate of alpha creatures has been increased in single-player.
- The weather effects of the maps The Island and Center are now more noticeable.
- Itchy and Pego will no longer steal skins from players.
- The gorilla boss will no longer float and walk backward, preventing it from attacking anything or anyone.
