Patch 248 of ARK: Survival Evolved brings new maps, more dinos, and also the ability to prevent their offspring.
The creators of ARK have long given up on bringing the development of the game to a real “end” and are still shooting out new updates from all barrels to keep players engaged. The latest patch, which has now reached number 248, brings a lot of new features that should maintain the fun for a long time.
If you are tired of the standard island, you can now take advantage of the feature to create your own worlds based on numerous settings (which has a bit of that Minecraft feel). You can choose which biome you want, whether and how many rivers there are, and so on.
Not everyone wants a dino family
Who doesn’t know the problem? You don’t pay attention to your dinos for half an hour and before you know it, the whole camp is full of eggs and a bunch of little lizards are scurrying around. If you don’t want that, you can now sterilize your dinosaurs to make reproduction impossible – this effect is, however, permanent and should therefore be used with caution.
Apart from that, the “usual suspects” have snuck into the patch again: new dinosaurs, minor performance improvements, and the ability to now find the long-anticipated notes from inhabitants scattered throughout the game world. These not only reveal part of the background story but also grant a temporary XP buff. So it’s worth keeping an eye out for such crates with notes.
