On New Year’s Day, ARK: Survival Evolved receives a new patch. This introduces player alliances and two-seaters.
The Alliances of the Kangaroos
At Studio Wildcard, there’s no time to rest even during the holidays, as ARK: Survival Evolved received another update yesterday on the last day of 2015. Several features have been bundled into a patch to celebrate the new year.
The coolest new feature is a new wild creature that is closely related to the kangaroos we know. Like almost everything in ARK, they are much larger and, once tamed, can transport two players at once. One rides as usual in the saddle, while the other is tucked away in a pouch, traveling warm as a “passenger” across the island. With its strong legs, the Procoptodon, as the creature is called, is capable of jumping over high obstacles and can cover large distances in no time due to its speed. To see how it looks in the game, you should check it out yourself:
A frequently requested feature was the ability to join forces with other tribes. This option is now available, allowing smaller player groups to support one another and stand as “alliances” against larger groups. This should also allow tight-knit smaller groups to stand up against prevailing veterans. Furthermore, this enables new kinds of diplomacy and politics as alliances are negotiated and intrigues spun.
The PC version of ARK is still 40% off until January 4, 2016 and available for €16.79 in the Steam store. For more information about the game, visit our ARK: Survival Evolved topic page.
