The “Giant Bee” comes with patch v257 to ARK Survival Evolved. The bee is tamable and helps with hunting.
Studio Wildcard revealed that they will publish a new dossier on Monday (April 10). There were a few hints on Twitter about what the new creature is. The newcomer is said to have a trait that survivors have long desired.

On his Twitter account, lead designer Jeremy Stieglitz was asked if the new creature is the bee. Stieglitz responded, “Bees are coming in v257 ;)”
Ark has been planning to add bees for a while
The “Giant Bee” has been planned for Ark Survival Evolved for some time. It has not been released yet, but its dossier is already known.
Its full name is “Apis Lithohermaea Drone.” These creatures are always found near their nests, which they build high in the trees on the island or on cliffs.
The queen bee is not at the swarm but always inside the nest. The drones are aggressive and sting anything that comes too close to their territory.
Taming the “Giant Bee” and farming honey
It is possible to tame the queen bee. She will lay new drone eggs and build a nest. Those with the right equipment can farm the honey of the creatures. Mammals find the scent of honey irresistible, making it a popular tool for hunting.
The drones follow their queen into battle, making such a nest suitable for defense. The bee’s stings significantly weaken any creature, and its stinger is firmly attached to its body. This allows the drones to sting their victims multiple times and weaken them considerably.
It is still unknown when patch v257 will be implemented and when the bee will be added to the survival MMO.
